Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from dealers and outdoor retailers about Takibi products

What is TPU and how is it different from PVC?

+

TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is a high-performance polymer that is inherently flexible without plasticizers — unlike PVC which requires phthalate additives to stay soft. This means TPU has zero chemical odor, remains flexible at -30°C, and is fully recyclable. Our proprietary TPU compound achieves 3x the tear strength of PVC at 30% less weight. Per ASTM D412 testing, our TPU film has tensile strength >40 MPa and elongation >500%.

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

+

For trial partners, our MOQ starts at just 20 units per SKU. For authorized dealers ordering regularly, we offer flexible quantities with volume pricing starting at 100 units. Custom branding (logo, packaging, color) requires a minimum of 200 units per SKU.

What certifications do your products have?

+

Our products are tested and certified by SGS for REACH compliance (EU chemicals regulation), RoHS (no heavy metals), and California Proposition 65 (no reproductive toxins). Our TPU material is BPA-free and formaldehyde-free. We also hold 3 patents on our TPU inflatable construction technology.

How long does a Takibi mattress last?

+

With proper care, our TPU mattresses last 8-12 years — compared to 3-5 years for PVC alternatives. TPU does not suffer from plasticizer migration (the process that makes PVC products gradually stiffen and crack). Our longest-running customer in Japan has been using the same mattress for 4 years with daily use at a glamping resort.

Can you do custom branding or private label?

+

Yes. We offer full OEM/ODM services including custom colors, logo printing, packaging design, and product modifications. Our design team can work from your specifications or develop new products based on your market needs. Typical development time for a custom variant is 15-20 days.

What is the lead time for orders?

+

Sample orders ship within 3-5 business days. Production orders of 100-500 units typically require 20-30 days. For larger orders (500+ units), lead time is 30-45 days. We maintain safety stock of our best-selling SKUs for faster fulfillment.

How does the drop-stitch construction work?

+

Drop-stitch is an advanced construction method where thousands of high-tenacity polyester fibers (4,000+ per m²) are woven vertically between two parallel TPU layers. When inflated to 7 PSI, these fibers pull taut and create a rigid, perfectly flat surface — similar to a stand-up paddleboard. This eliminates the 'hammock effect' of traditional air mattresses and provides even weight distribution.

What warranty do you offer?

+

All Takibi products come with a 2-year manufacturer warranty covering material defects and workmanship. For authorized dealers, we extend this to a 3-year warranty. Our warranty claim rate is under 0.5% — reflecting our rigorous 12-point quality inspection on every unit before shipment.

Do you have inflatable boats?

+

Yes — our TPU inflatable fishing boat is currently in final testing and will launch in Q3 2026. Using the same patented TPU material, our boat weighs only 3kg (vs 15kg+ for PVC equivalents), supports standing, and can be paired with an electric thruster. Contact us to join the early access list.

Where is Takibi manufactured?

+

All Takibi products are designed and manufactured at our own 3,500m² factory in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, China — one of the world's leading manufacturing hubs. We do not outsource production. Our facility operates 6 high-frequency welding lines, 2 TPU extrusion lines, and a complete quality testing lab with cold chamber, burst testing, and air-tightness verification equipment.
